Date night with a bang: Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery

Ah, the big question: where do you go on a first date?

If you are not new to the dating scene, I bet you already have many ideas in mind. For those in a relationship, the challenge might be finding something fun and exciting to do.

For many couples, a safe common denominator can be food, specifically dessert—and who doesn’t love ice cream? If you’re open to suggestions, I have just the place for you.

Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery is a small shop located on Ossington Avenue. I have heard about this place and have passed by it many times, always with long lines. One day, my girlfriend and I finally decided to find out what the hype was all about.

As we lined up, I could see everybody was excited to choose their flavours. Once you enter the shop, you’ll see the menu plastered everywhere. The selection of flavours was authentic, each with a description that piques your curiosity even more.

It felt like entering a factory, and we were approaching the heart of a secret. The shop is so tiny that the kitchen is only a short distance away after you enter. Bang Bang’s presentation is a little different, though. The signage was not on full display, like in a traditional ice cream shop. Here, you pick a flavour and how you want the ice cream served—on a cone, as a cookie sandwich, etc. Once you’ve placed your order, you wait for it to be served. The service was fast, by the way.

At first glance, I could already tell that it was high-quality ice cream. It looked natural and creamy. It even smelled good. I loved the balanced sweetness. It wasn’t so sweet that it would overpower the flavour.

So, for your next date, whether for a first date with someone new or a regular date night with your significant other, keep Bang Bang Ice-Cream in mind. The ice cream is going to make your day. Not only is it delicious, but it’s also an overall pleasant experience with lots of positive vibes and big smiles. This spot is not your run-of-the-mill ice cream shop.
